The New
International The Federation was instituted on November 1st, 1995. Its main purpose is to oversee and maintain the high standards of Kyoshin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. Federation dojos have access to: a curriculum to 5th Dan; beginner, intermediate and instructor manuals; standardized grading practices; seminars; training in other dojos of the Federation; advertising, including on the web page; and social events. The Federation is guided by a "Memorandum of Association" and has a set of by-laws to govern its activities. The Board of Directors for the Federation meets several times per year to consider such issues as: developing a certificated self defense course; marketing the style; and preparing the agenda for the annual general meeting. An overriding objective of the Federation is to develop an internationally recognized standard for jiu-jitsu, without interfering with other organizations. Presently, the Officers for the Board of Directors of the Federation are: President, Soke Shawn F. Rodie; First Vice-President, Sempai Andrew Rodie, 2nd Dan; Second Vice-President, Sempai John Micallef, 3rd Dan; Secretary, Sensei Denis O'Donnell, 4th Dan. Advisors to the Board are: Suenori Tominaga, 7th Dan, Shotokan Karate; Doug Knispel Jr., 6th Dan Kitsune Ryu Jiu-Jitsu; Dr. John McEwen, 5th Dan, Shotokan Karate, Technical Advisor: Soke Shawn F.
